9/17/2020 0 Comments 5th class visit Roche Castle5th class have been learning about the Normans and life in Norman times. This week we went on a field trip to Roche Castle. The boys and girls had so much fun!
When we arrived we took a tour of the castle and identified different features of the castle including the banquet hall, the dungeon, the walkway for the archers, we identified where the barbican once stood and the secret passageway as well as the famous murder window. The children carried out some map work, sketched the castle and then took part in a drama lesson where the O’Neills from the hills of Forkhill came to confront The Normans to try to gain their lands back. We had a wonderful day! What a great start to September 😊
