Suggested Work to Complete at Home 8th June - 12th June

Hi 5th class,

So we are coming close to the end of our school year, and I know it can be hard to keep your motivation high. Try your best to put as much effort into the last few weeks of learning as you can! We have a little more work to finish, particularly in your Maths, so let's try our very best to get as much learning from 5th class as we possible can!

Here is a list of suggested work to complete for this week. As always, only complete what suits you and your family best, but in saying that, try to cover as much as you can.

Maths
  • Master Your Maths – Two Weekly Tests only. Try to really test yourself, for example, put away any books or copies that might help you, just the way we do in school. Once you complete it, you can email me for answers, correct your work, and figure out the questions you mightn’t have got right.
  • Learning Tables x 3  – Daily practise orally or on Timestables.com
  • Lesson on this week’s topic: The Circle (Attached below)

English
  • Spellings: Next spelling list (Attached below). Choose a spelling challenge to do twice a week, using as much words as possible from the list. Spelling challenges attached below.
  • Lesson on this week’s topic: Homophones (Attached below)

Gaeilge
  • Litriú – Fill in and learn spellings – To be completed everyday as normal (Attached below)
  • Lesson on this week’s topic: Caitheamh Aimsire (Páirc an Chrócaigh) (Attached below)
  • Foclóir agus Frásaí – I have attached the appropriate Foclóir agus Frásaí and recording for “Mé Féin”. This is not the theme that you are working on in this week’s lesson, but it will help with Activity No. 2 of this week’s lesson.

Science/Art - The GREAT Fifth Class BAKE OFF
  • On Pg. 89 of Small World (Geography and Science), read Unit 16: Heat.
  • Challenge: Enter the Great Fifth Class Bake Off by baking a cake/cupcakes/anything of your fancy at home, using a source of heat (with parental supervision), and send photos and descriptions of your bakes to me via Seesaw or email before devouring! Taste is very important, but presentation might be more so!
  • Your bake will be judged by your classmates through voting next week... who will win the Great Fifth Class Bake Off?Get your oven gloves on and Ready.... Steady.... Bake!

Religion
  • Grow in Love: We are on Theme 9: We Are Called to Love and Serve the Church
Explore Lesson 1: Exploring Our Diocese, with corresponding pages (from pg. 98) in your Grow in Love book.
