The countdown is on....

Week beginning 8th June 2020

Hello everyone, I hope you enjoyed your virtual school tour last week and virtual sports day. I really enjoyed seeing the photos and videos you sent of all the fun activities you have been doing. Thank you so much for that.

It was also great to hear lots of you reading, feel free to do that activity as often as you like. You can try different books and pages to use. Well done.

For the next two weeks we are really going to focus on maths. The topics for this week include addition and an extra topic, weight. I will add videos over the week for these, the videos for each day are 15mins long but you may want to pause them throughout in order to complete the page with me so it may take you longer than 15mins to complete the work.

I will also add some activities related to weight on seesaw. These do not have to be completed but if they're something you would enjoy doing I would love to see you completing them.

I have taken out some other subjects to allow for the extra time spent on maths.

As always the plan for the week is a guide so pick and choose what suits you best.

I hope you have a lovely week.

Missing you all very much
Ms O Hanrahan :)

Maths - Time

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a great week so far.

There have been some queries about time. I have done a number of videos to help explain. You can use these when you feel your child needs them.

The videos include - an introduction to the clock, o'clock, half past, one hour later, half hour later, one hour earlier and half hour earlier.

Busy at Maths pg 158 and 159 look at time -  earlier and later. These could be done tomorrow (Thursday 28th May) instead of puzzles.

I hope this helps as time can be very tricky for the children to understand.

Thank you to everyone who has set up seesaw. I love seeing what the children are doing. Thanks for uploading the photos and videos. Keep them coming.

Ms O Hanrahan :)

25th - 28th May

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately I am having some technical issues with my resources for this week. I will upload the plan for the week now and hopefully will get the maths and Irish videos uploaded on Monday at some point. The maths isn't too hard this week so you should be able to work away at that on Monday and Tuesday.

It is a four day week this week so four days to work hard and then a nice long weekend to enjoy. Hopefully the beautiful weather will continue.

I'm hoping you will all be able to use seesaw to upload some photos and videos of what you have been up to. I have received some lovely photos and it is so nice to see your gorgeous faces. I miss you all.

If you have any questions please contact me on seesaw or email.

I hope you have a brilliant week.

Topic Specific Language – Discuss these words with the children to help with understanding of the story. Play the vocabulary games
Aesop – Greek writer of fables
moral - the lesson about right and wrong learned from a story or event
