Hello from Mrs Halpin!

Hello everyone in 4th class from Mrs Halpin

Hope you and all your family are keeping well. I miss school and seeing you all every day. Hopefully we’ll get back to normal before too long. I have included a list of ideas for work you could complete at home over the coming week. You do not have to complete all this work. Think of it as a menu where you and your parents can decide what is suitable for you. Remember it is important to get daily exercise. Why not try Joe Wicks-Live on Youtube every morning at 9am..  You should also help out around the house. Look after your pet or a younger brother or sister. Do you set and clear the table? You should help to empty the dishwasher and try to keep your room tidy. Do you do jobs your parents set without complaining?

The following is a list of school work. You could attempt some of it next week. Lots of the ideas outlined are available on the website Twinkl . If you are on the website go to school closures, fourth class and then pack A.  I have uploaded the activities in the file below.

 Maths
  • Master your Maths week 22
  • Equivalent fractions sheet (Twinkl)
  •   X7 tables

Gaeilge :

  • Why not try to speak some Irish in your house. You could even use some of the “Frása na Seachtaine”. “Míle buíochas” “An féidir liom cabhrú leat?”....
  • Biachlár – menu (Twinkl)

English:

  • Finish your shared reading
  • Read some of a novel/ library book
  • https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/books/free-ebooks
  • Spelling week 11 and sentences
  • Create your own free writing copy. You could use any spare copy or even a large notebook with a colourful cover. You could include some of the ideas we had on our class sheet (poems, stories, comic strips, guess who..)
  • Alien Invasion, adjectives ...( Twinkl)

Also feel free to look at our SET blog. There are lots of websites which include maths and literacy activities suitable for all.
I hope you got on well with the work you did over the last fortnight. If you had any problems with your project or Master your Maths for example do not worry. Parents please feel no pressure to complete academic work. As a parent myself I know how difficult it can be to achieve this in a busy household especially when I have a sometimes less than willing child! Every child is different and every home is different. These are exceptional circumstances. Remember all learning is valuable whether it’s spending time outdoors or helping those around you at home.

Hope to see you all soon.
 Thank you
Mrs Halpin
