6/21/2020 1 Comment Mon 22nd - Friday 26th JuneTo all of 4th class, This is my last time writing to you. I want to begin by saying how lucky I felt to be teaching you this year. You were a fun, enthusiastic class and I hope you will still say hello to me when you are in 5th class. Your new teacher will be very lucky to have you! Thank you for all the work you sent on via email and Seesaw. Many of you spent a lot of time on maths. This will be an enormous help when you are in 5th. I loved seeing your projects and your beautiful art work. It was great to hear about you doing other activities like baking and playing outside. Don’t worry about the work you found difficult or were unable to complete. Teachers understand this and will be doing lots of revision in the autumn term. Your parents will be collecting your books etc this week and they will be returning the book rental. Can you take some responsibility for this? Help to check everything is returned and make sure it is in the same condition you received it. If anything is lost or damaged just let the school know. I have included art work in the bag you will be receiving but I will have to give you back your masks in September as they don’t have your names on them. The plan of work looks a little different this week partly because it is our last week, partly because you will be returning the book rental and also because there are some important life skills you may need to be reminded of. Maths: Complete pupil profile assessment booklet for the Busy at Maths. This is in the bag your parents will be collecting. It will give you an idea of the areas in maths you find tricky and you can congratulate yourself on all that you have learnt. I have included the answer booklet on the blog this week. Do a maths trail around your home. There is one you could try but you could create one for yourself or for a younger sibling to attempt. Cross Curricular Work: Water/Road /Farm Safety: https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/7f3dab-water-safety/ http://www.agrikids.ie/safety-circle.php Have a look at the links online and the information sheets. With this in mind there are a range of activities around the topic of safety I have included for you to try. You can design a poster, do the road safety crossword, try the farm safety quiz and see if you can spot the dangers in the pictures. Handwashing: Watch this video to make sure you are washing your hands properly. This will be especially important when we return to school. You could make a poster to display in the school when we return. https://www.safefood.eu/Food-Safety/Steps-to-handwashing.aspx PE: You might find it fun to try this active schools week . Thank you and I hope you have a lovely summer, Mrs Halpin ![]()

It has been an amazing journey for you here. I mean, you were able to touch the lives of so many people. I am sad that this is the last time that you will be writing, but it cannot be helped. I hope that you enjoy the next chapter of your life. I seriously believe that you are one of the greatest to ever do it. I wish you all the best in whatever it is that you are going to do.
