Junior Infants Blog
Thank you so much boys and girls for sending on your fabulous verses, they are amazing. I hope you enjoy your video! Well done :)
Thanks so much to Conall's Mammy for bringing our attention to this live kite-making activity that is being hosted on CreativeIrl Facebook page tomorrow. The event is called 'Meet me in the clouds! Kite making workshop with Rebecca Marsden'. What a lovely activity for this week when we are thinking and reading about kites! Thank you Michelle :)
Hi everyone, we are learning all about kite's this week. Here is a guided reading lesson on our next reader 'Emma's Kite'. We will be reading this story next week. Enjoy!
Thank you to everyone who sent on pictures and videos for our class video. They are all absolutely fabulous and it made me so happy to see your smiling faces and to hear your lovely voices! I will upload the video very soon so keep an eye out for it!
I hope you are all safe and well. I am good. This weekend, I cut my dad's hair with the clippers, it was very funny. I gave him a funny hairstyle at first but I fixed it afterwards. Have any of you had haircuts at home? My hair is very long now, I am looking forward to when the hairdressers opens again!
You are all doing an amazing job at home. As always, we take it one day at a time and we do our best. Some days are better than others and that's OK.
Please keep me updated on the children's work and progress. My email is email@example.com
Have a great week everyone. Miss you lots and lots!

Hello Junior Infants!
It is hard to believe we are at the beginning of another new week. First and foremost, I hope you are all happy, safe and healthy! I was thinking about what I miss the most about school, I think it is our circle time with Mrs Johnston on Friday mornings when I hear all your news and some very funny stories from you guys. I miss all my friends who work at our school too, it was lovely to see them all again in the video we made last week and it reminded me that we will all be back together soon, once it is safe for us to go back! This week, I have set a video challenge for our class. Wouldn't it be lovely to see all of our class in a video together like the staff video? If it doesn't suit to make a video or take a picture, you can draw a picture for the video instead!
I hope you are all working hard, having fun and helping at home too! Thank you to everyone who got in touch last week, it is lovely to see your progress and check in with you.
Remember, the work set is an outline for the week. We all have days that are more productive than others and all we can do is our best.
Have a good week everyone!
Hello boys and girls,
I forgot two ideas in my post yesterday!
1. Making a May Altar for Mary's Month of May. I will add some pictures for inspiration to this post. This would be a lovely activity to do outside in the sun. I would love to see pictures of your May Altar. Can you remember Mary's special colour?
2. Extra reading: If you would like to do some extra reading each week I would like to give you access to some great books online. I have downloaded one today so you can have a look. It's called 'Big Bad Bug'.
This is the site I got it from: https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/oxford-owl-ebook-collection and you can use my log in details if you like.
The book 'Big Bad Bug' is Oxford Level 1+
Reading is so important, whether it is reading our readers every day or listening to lovely stories read to us at bedtime.
Have a lovely day :)
I hope you all enjoyed a lovely weekend and that your families are safe and well.
Attached to this blog post is an outline of suggested work and the resources needed to complete the work. Remember that there is no pressure to complete everything, the outline can be used as a menu. You are all doing such a great job facilitating the children in their learning at home. We all have days that are more productive than others, all we can do is our best!
It has been brilliant to receive so many updates, photographs and videos. The children are learning so much from this time with you. Please continue to send on the children's work and keep me updated whether it is writing, a video of them reading, a photograph of outdoor learning or a piece of art they have created. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Miss you all lots!
Take care and have a good week!
