Junior Infants Blog
Junior Infants came up with fantastic ideas for our next play theme - The Arctic. The children decided that we should have a boat in the pretend play area for fishing in the Arctic. A group of children painted both sides of the boat today. We used a piece of card from our old cave to make the entrance to our igloo. a group of children used scrap paper to cover the card and make it look like it was made from blocks of ice! The children decided that they would need white blocks for building igloos in the construction area. The children brought in lots of boxes this morning and a group of children covered them with scrap paper this afternoon. We can't wait to get started!
Fifth class had a fantastic day at the Fís Film Awards last Wednesday in the Helix. They were one of twenty two classes nationwide that were shortlisted for the event that celebrates film creation in the classroom. Their film Spartan Switch Up won an award for Best Drama in the overall competition. If there had been an award for loudest cheering they would have won that too!
