Maths, Gaeilge, Religion and other activities for Junior Infants for 20th - 24th April

**Note: English lessons for this week are in separate blog post underneath this one**
 A rough daily timetable for Junior Infants: 
9-9.30:               PE: Joe Wicks or Cosmic Kids on YouTube, daily run outside or exercise of your choice  
9.30-9.45:         Letter sound work: New sound f and revision of sounds s - l
9.45-10:             Sight word work and reader ‘He Runs’
10-10.30:           Gaeilge: Abair Liom online (Lesson 22) or watch Cúla4 school programme
10.30-11:            Break
11 – 11.15:            Play online maths games, active maths games or do a jigsaw/puzzle
11. 15 – 11.30:     Busy at Maths
11.30 – 11.45:     Religion
11. 45 - 12:         English writing activities
12 – 12.30:         Break
12.30 – 12.45:    Oral language programme online or story time
12. 45 – 1:           Choose from other curriculum-based activities or enjoy some free playtime!

Numeral Zero:

Active games: 
1.  The children must start at the top of the stairs. When you call out "one," the child must jump one step down.  When you call out "zero", the child must stay on the step they are on. Do this with numbers 0 - 5 until your child reaches the bottom of the stairs. 
2. Using toy cars or dolls, call out a number from 0 - 5. Your child must show you that number of toys. Write numbers 0-5 on cards and hold them up instead of calling out the numbers. Your child must count out and show you the number of toys that matches the card you are holding up. 
Busy at Maths (Small homework book): 
Page 25 - 29 (one page per day)

Other activities:
Jigsaws 
Helping with baking and cooking 
Gaeilge

This week's lesson: Number 22: 
Ag Féachaint ar an Teilifís. 

The children can use the Abair Liom online resources to learn new words, the song and poem and to play vocabulary games on this week's topic of 'watching the television'. 

Speaking of watching the television, Cúla4 are starting a new school programme this Monday morning at 10am! 


Religion
We always start our school day with our morning prayer: 
Father in heaven, you love me, you’re with me night and day.  I want to love you always, in all I do and say. I’ll try to please you, Father, bless me through this day. Amen.

And we end our school day with our evening prayer: 
​God our Father, I come to say, thank you for your love today.
Thank you for my family and all the friends you gave to me.
Guard me in the dark of night and in the morning send your light. Amen.

Mapping: Read or listen to the story 'What the Ladybird Heard' (see English plan for link) and draw your own map of the farm from the story. If you have some farm toys, you could design your own farm for playtime.

PE: Jow Wicks on YouTube, every morning at 9am, Cosmic Kid Yoga on YouTube or your own daily exercise with your family
