Notices for Parents

9th January 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you and your families are well at this time.

Unfortunately we will not be welcoming your child back into the school building in person on Monday morning.  We hope that this period of remote teaching and learning that we are entering into will be a short one.  In preparation for it, the staff of Scoil Mhuire gan Smál have been busy organising lessons and resource materials for the coming weeks.  Each teacher will post contact details and information relevant to this work on their class blog, found on the school website
under 'School Life' (www.kilkerleyns.com/school-life.html).  We hope that you are in a position to help and support your child to engage with this work using our online platform Seesaw Plus.

Our teachers are looking forward to speaking with you.  A schedule for these 'phone calls will be sent to you shortly.  Should you wish to contact me you can do so at office@kilkerleyns.ie

Le dea-ghuí,
Mrs. Kirby

Please, please place class work on seesaw as the blog is very cumbersome when dealing with multiple children.

Also I will be working from home & kids will have no access to the blog while I am working as I will be using my devices but they will have access to seesaw.

I"m not being critical in any way - God knows I'm in the same boat trying to organise online classes - I"m just giving feedback from the parent end when there is only one adult in the house.

Thank you for your comment Sarah. I will of course pass it on to the class teachers. Seesaw will be the main platform for communicating, however the blog is used as a tool for those who find Seesaw tricky.
Thanks, Ciara
