Kathy O’Hagan

Picture
In the beautiful grounds of our school is a bench dedicated to the memory of Kathy O’Hagan, loving wife of David and beloved mother of Sophie, one of our students. Kathy sadly died on the 7th of June, 2009 after a long, bravely fought illness.  She was a very creative person and loved gardening and performing on stage, which is a talent her daughter Sophie has inherited from her.

The bench erected in her memory faces out onto the playground and the Cooley Mountains beyond and is a place where the children can sit and chat or play at lunchtime.

It is inscribed with the words
Remembered by the staff and pupils, Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, Forever in our thoughts.
