PE Challenges

PE challenges!

Remember PE is an important part of the curriculum too! If you like you can take a short video or photograph any of your activities and send them to kilkerleyteacher@gmail.com and we will upload them to the blog and Twitter so you can check out what your friends and classmates are doing.
  • Design and build an obstacle course in your garden.  Challenge your brothers, sisters or other family members to complete it.  Time each participant.  Who is the fastest?
  • Create or learn a new dance routine (yes even if it’s from TikTok) Teach it to someone in your house.
  • Measure out 30m in your garden- or a longer or shorter distance depending on how much space you have.  (Remember 1m is about one large/giant step)  How quickly can you run it?  How many times can you complete it before exhaustion sets in?  What’s the total distance you could run without stopping?
  • Invent a skipping rhyme and game with a St. Patrick’s Day theme.  Get some inspiration from the following skipping games/rhymes:  https://www.care.com/c/en-ie/stories/3968/11-catchy-jump-rope-rhymes/
  • Keep Up soccer challenge- Practice keeping the ball in the air with any ‘playable’ part of the body… feet, legs, shoulders, head, etc. How long can you do it without stopping?  For an extra challenge: ‘Around The World.’ Keep the ball up in this order: right foot > right thigh > right shoulder > head > left shoulder > left thigh > left foot
