Thanks very much for your emails it was lovely to read your messages and see some of your lovely work. I’ll look forward to seeing more of your work this week. My Email address is Katrinacumiskey@gmail.com Please complete the following work throughout the week. Please don’t feel under pressure to do everything, but remember to do a little reading every day. English: Spellings- grip, milk, bear, tear, pear, wear, swear, underwear, weight, volume Dictation: She ate pears with honey. I cannot bear the way he swears. The orchestra wears orange. Skills Book: Pages 73, 73, 75 Handwriting: Please do two more pages of either the large handwriting book or the small handwriting book. Oral Language: Go onto CJfallon website, go to Quicklinks which is at the top right of the website, Click on OLP-J1 to 2ND. Go to Unit 12: Transport. Listen to the interactive power point and complete the games. If you have some spare time you could investigate the various modes of transport and maybe the advantages and disadvantage of electric cars. In your green copy write some sentences about electric cars. Draw and design your own car. I have also attached a power point on cars. Creative Writing: go to the slideshow on the oral language topic transport. Go to the picture of the busy railway station. Use this picture to write a story about what you think is going on in the picture. Reading: Reading: Reader - Bedtime stories Camping Fun pages 22 -27 https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/books/free-ebooks there’s a number of books available here for you to read online. You just need to set up an account and you have lots of access to readers. (This is a wonderful resource, the children will really benefit from reading these books.) Continue reading any books you have at home Maths: Master your Maths. Friday Test at the back of the book. Subtraction 2- No Renaming C pg 110 3-D Shapes: pages 111, 112, 113, Time 2- Hour and Half hour pages 114 & 115 3D Shapes: I’ve attached some additional worksheets that can be completed on 3D shapes if you have time. The children can also create their own 3D robot by gathering old cereal boxes etc. Don’t forget to use the interactive games on the CJ Fallons website also. The Clock: This week we will concentrate on the 0’ clock and half past. If possible use a clock at set the time, allow the children to orally give the answer. Draw a clock and get the children to draw hands on the clock. Go to CJFallon, click on student resources, then filter to 2nd class, Busy at Maths. Go to page 7 and there are interactive games liked to place value. They are labelled page 110, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115. Gaeilge: If you go to folensonline.ie you can access our Gaeilge programme ‘Abair Liom D’ Go to FolensOnline.ie and click register Select Teacher Fill in a username, email and password For Roll Number use the code: Prim20 Once you have an account the children can click on the ‘resources’ part of the Abair Liom D book and access all the games, songs and poems they have been learning all year. For the next theme – go to lesson 22 Luascán nua. The children will revise this chapter. They can listen to the story, song and poem and play the games.
