24/3/20

Hello to everyone in Second Class, I am missing you all very much. I hope you and your family are all well and keeping active at home.
I’m sure you all have the work I gave you when we left school all completed. Over the next week I would like you to complete the following for me.
The stories and Maths activities are all on Twinkl, go to school closures, second class and then Pack B. I have also uploaded the activities in the file below. Please download, do not feel you have to print off all activities, some the children can read from the computer and write the answers in a copy to save ink.
  • Spelling List:
Frightening
Highly
Lightening
Light
Flight
Brightly
Might
Tights

  • Please put these words into sentences and complete the crossword in the Twinkl pack.
  • Read the story about the giraffe and answer the questions. Write a story about “The Grumpy Giraffe” in your sentence copy.
  • I have attached a picture of a giraffe, using the picture draw your own picture of a giraffe. I know this is something you all really enjoy doing. Use lots of bright colours and remember to take your time.
  • Skills Book pages 63, 64, 65. Please do not go any further than page 65.
  • Handwriting: pages 24 & 25
  • Read the story about “The Wolves” and answer the questions. Write you own story about “The Wolf” using the following lines to begin your story.
  • Sweet Wolves
'There's nothing wrong with having pigs as friends!' Jerry howled.
Mother wolf watched proudly as her cubs played with the pigs.
Champ the wolf sat on the roof and waited.
There was a growling sound in the cupboard.
  • Create your own acrostic poem about “The Ladybird”.
  • Master your Maths Week 25 and the Friday Test at the back of the Maths book.
  • Complete the greater than and less than sheet and the subtraction worksheet in the Twinkl pack.
  • Do adding three numbers together, for example 43+ 26+18 =___. The children are used to writing the numbers down one underneath the other. Remember some sums will require you to carry over the little 1.
  • Revise Money especially giving change back out of €1
  • Reading: I’m sure everyone has completed the graded readers that was given out on our last day, if that is the case maybe you have a library book or novel that you be reading aloud to your parents at home.
  • Reading:

  • Remember enjoy this nice weather and I hope to see you all very soon.
