I know you are all missing school and your friends, we will continue to do a little school work and enjoy this lovely weather. I would like you to complete this work throughout the week, however don't feel under pressure to complete everything if you are not able to. English: Spellings: Land, quiz, scene, scent, muscle, science, scissors, crescent, gram, kilogram Dictation: We act in the third scene. I honestly like the scent of cherries. Our Science homework took hours. Everyday practice writing this list of spellings and the 3 sentences the way I would in class. On Friday write your spellings and dictation sentences into your spelling copy. In your sentence copy write a sentence about each word, as we would normally do for homework. Handwriting: Complete the next 2 pages in your small handwriting book. Skills Book: Complete the next 3 pages in your skills book. Oral Language: Go onto CJfallon website, go to Quicklinks which is at the top right of the website, click on OLP-J1 to 2ND. Go to Unit 11: Irish Legends. listen to the interactive power point and complete the games. Reading: Reader - Bedtime stories, Read the first story. You do not have this book in your school bag, arrangements will be made to collect your books this week and you will be able to read it. You can read a page or two each day or read it all. This is the main story for the next two weeks so no need to rush through it, take your time and focus on any new words. Reading over a story a few times is very important as it helps with fluency in reading. https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/books/free-ebooks there’s a number of books available here for you to read online. You just need to set up an account and you have lots of access to readers. Continue reading any books you have at home. SESE: Read the attached story about Tír na nÓg. This is linked to your oral language lesson. Pretend you are Oisín or Niamh, write a diary entry telling us about your life in Tír na nÓg. if you are Oisín you might miss your friends and your life as a warrior. Write your diary entry into your A4 green copy, which will also be in your bundle of books. Don't forget to draw a picture also. Gaeilge If you go to folensonline.ie you can access our Gaeilge programme ‘Abair Liom D’ Go to FolensOnline.ie and click register Select Teacher Fill in a username, email and password For Roll Number use the code: Prim20 Once you have an account the children can click on the ‘resources’ part of the Abair Liom D book and access all the games, songs and poems they have been learning all year. For the next theme – go to lesson 23 An Gruagaire children can listen to the story, song and poem and play the games. Maths: Master Your Maths- Complete this weeks pages Monday - Thursday. Don't forget to do your Friday Test at the back of the book. Busy At Maths: Place Value 4 pages 100-103. The children do not have this book at the minute but it will also be in your bundle when they are collected. Go to CJFallon, click on student resources, then filter to 2nd class, Busy at Maths. Go to page 7 and there are interactive games liked to place value. They are labelled page 100, 101, 102, 103. Religion Go to www.growinlove.ie To login - username:trial@growinlove.ie password:growinlove Click Second Class book and go to theme 8: We Can Live as Jesus Asked. Complete the 2 workbook pages also. I will attach a rough timetable just as a guide which might be useful. I know some people may find this overwhelming and that there is a lot of information and some may feel they would like more. This is simply a guide to what you could be doing, if it works, for you and your family. Please do not feel any pressure to complete everything.
