Work for week starting June 22nd

Morning Everyone,

Our final week!  It’s hard to believe!
This week we are looking at some very important topics, not just for the summertime, but all year round.

Farm Safety:
  • Watch the videos attached below on farm safety.  Read the Farm Safety Posters and complete the Farm Safety Trail questions attached below.

Internet Safety:
I know we looked at internet safety already this year however as you move on to second level and begin to use technology more and more the importance of staying safe and being responsible online grows even greater.
To revise I would recommend re-watching the videos on the webwise site and complete the activities attached.

  1. Vicky's Party
  2. The Match
  3. The Photo

Water Safety:
  • Read through the PAWS water safety presentation attached below.
  • Play some of the online games to test what you have learned  http://paws.edco.ie/fifth-and-sixth-classes/
  • Design a water safety poster with tips that you feel would be most useful for yourself and your friends during the summer time

Road Safety:
Summertime is a fantastic opportunity to head out for a cycle with your family, friends or by yourself.  It is really important to be road wise when on your bike.  Watch the video on cycle safety below.

Hand Hygiene and Respiratory Etiquette
A hugely important topic in our current times.  Watch the videos below and come up with a catchy slogan to promote hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette that I could use in my classroom in September.

Some other activities:

Looking after yourself both physically and mentally is very important all year round and especially during stressful times like these.  Below are some activities and suggestions that you may like to help support your health and well being.
  • Active Schools Week.  You could choose some of the challenges in the PDF below to complete.

  • World Wellbeing Week starts this week.  The Wonders Cape App can be downloaded for free on any device for the coming three months and has lots of great games and activities on the topic of well being and communication.

I will upload any worksheets to the SeeSaw app.

Please remember to return your Educational Passport forms with your books this week as they will be sent on to your secondary schools.

Enjoy your last week, we may have a surprise or two in store before the final bell on Friday!
